Can anyone buy helium and do you need your own tank?

Yes anyone can buy helium. Its not illegal to buy it. You can probably rent a tank for a day. I would look under party supplies and rent a tank for a day and let them fill it up.

You generally can rent tanks of helium but it may be difficult to purchase a full size helium tank for personal use. There are small tanks that come with balloons, approximately 30, that is usually sold at party stores for about $20-30. Otherwise talk to your local party store.

It used to be that you could only rent one. However, in recent years there has been some developments that make it possible to purchase Mini tanks. You can find these mini tanks at most party stores.
