By under going MRI test ventral hernia can be detected to some extent only that is say 10%. This test is done after surgery. After the surgery the wound is being tested. There will be severe pain in the abdomen. This treatment will ge given by the doctors who have checked you.

MRI is not an effective diagnostic tool for a ventral hernia. There is less than a 10% likelihood that the hernia will show in the MRI.

It should be able to show if you have one. To be sure, check with your doctor who should be able to tell you for sure whether the MRI will detect.
