Depending on what kind of hernia you have and the location of the hernia would more than likely be the deciding factors as to whether it is ok to exercise. Also, the type of exercise you are planning on doing, would be a factor.

You should avoid all exercise and consult a doctor as soon as possible. Exercise, especially if it is strenuous or involves any weightlifting, will quickly worsen a hernia. If you must exercise, avoid any high-impact exercises or weight training.

Depends on wear and type of hernia. You should not over do it or lift heavy things if the hernia is in the back or groin.

As long as you are not lifting heavy things. Just take it slowly. Walking is one of the best exercises for that condition. Ask your doctor to make sure.
