Can a pregnancy test produce a false negative result if you have obesity?

Yes, obesity can influence a pregnancy test. But that is not saying much because although weight can effect the amount of the hormone released when pregnant, that already varies greatly between all women of varying weights.

A urine test measures the amount of HCG, a hormone, in your pee. The amount in your urine does not depend on whether or not you are obsese. You should not get a negative result.

A home pregnancy test measures the level of the HCG hormone in the body, and does not have anything to do with weight. Some women produce less of the hormone, and it may not register on a test, and this would cause a false negative. However, false negatives are very rare.

No, it can't. What pregnancy tests do is that it looks for the human growth hormone to be present in your urine. That means that you are carrying a baby. That hormone is only there when you are pregnant, whether you are healthy or obese. If you plan to carry to term, always go to your appointments.
