The male has to be at least 5 weeks old and the female at least 21 days old. It is good to give them an extra week or so. The female carries her babies for 16-22 days and has a litter of between 1 to 12. Hamsters can mate again shortly after and have many more.

Hamsters reach sexual maturity at different age. Depending on the breed, they can start breeding from 1 to 6 months of age.

Syrian Hamsters (often sold as teddy bear hamsters) can be sexually mature around 28 days, breeding however should not take place until the female is 4-6 months old. Females should not be bred for the first time older than 6 months as their hips fuse and breeding can be dangerous.

Female hamsters are best bred between 4 and 6 months old. Younger or older have higher complication risks. Males are best bred at 2 to 3 months old.

They can start breeding when they are only a few months old. Separate your hamsters by sex RIGHT AWAY or you will have so many hamsters that you can't see straight in a short period of time.

I think they start to breed about 1 years old or even sooner. But nbot all of them are breeding. Some of them can not even live together with another hamster because they feel competition and when it happens then they can kill each other. So if you wan to breed them watch it closely.
