Caterpillars come in multiple colors. Not all caterpillar breeds are the same color, either. The color depends on what their breed is and where they are located. It is quite possible that the diet, the food that the caterpillar eats, might have something to do with the color of the caterpillar as well.

There are many brown caterpillars. In fact, caterpillars come in all colors. Green is most common because it is a protective color when the caterpillars are feeding.
