Are there bobcats in Virginia?

My friend claims to have seen one in her backyard.

Yes there is bobcats in Virginia. Mostly live in Northern Virginia. Bobcats are very adaptable and can survive about anywhere. Listen at night for loud cat like noises, as in purring, hissing. They sound like a cat that you would have in the house, but a little more aggresive. They are also excellant of keeping rodents down.

Yes, there are bobcats in Virginia. You can google bobcats and see a national map of their location. They prefer rocky and dence areas. You will rarely see a bobcat in the wild. They mostly move at night and eat small birds and rodents. You local conservation agent can help you with more information.

Yes, there are bobcats in Virginia. I myself have seen one when i was on a hunting trip in Virginia. Bobcats are wild animals and can be seen all around the United States

Yes. Just spotted one running across the Blue Ridge Parkway near Fancy Gap just as dusk was settling in. Very cool!

yep! in culpeper va., a bobcat woke me up at 2:30 am! It sounded like a woman screaming! it was a bone chilling screaming that lasted 5 minutes or so, but the sherriff assured me, it was a bobcat.

Yes. Your friend might have seen a large housecat, though, as bobcats are notoriously people-shy. They are very difficult to see as they are very stealth and nervous by nature. Unless the bobcat is ill, he will not attack you, either. If it was a bobcat, he was probably just passing through.
