There are three types of stomach polyps that are found in humans - hyperplastic polyps, fundic gland polyps and adenoma polyps. Adenoma and hyperplastic polyps can both become cancerous, with 10% of adenoma and 2% of hyperplastic. The cause of stomach polyps is still somewhat a mystery, but can be linked to H. pylori and the autoimmune response.
