Question by  Becca53 (17)

What is causing the hard lumps on my puppy's stomach?

I'm afraid it may be cancerous, since there's no way she could be pregnant? Is this normal, or should I have her checked?

Be sure the puppy hasn't swallowed any abnormal objects. Puppies often times eat alot of weird things. Check often to see if the lumps move placement, like they are going lower in the gut and intestines. It could have a blockage. It could also be a problem with the bowels as they can get inverted.

I know that lumps can be cancer because my mother in-laws's pitbull had them all over her stomach. I would get that checked out asap. She never did anything about her dog's lumps and she lived a long time but I would still get them checked out.

Different things can cause lumps in puppies, skin infections, insect bites, etc. Some more serious conditions can cause lumps as well, for example allergic reactions. It is best to have a veterinarian examine your puppy to determine the cause.
