Most are not dangerous but should be monitored by a physician for possible inflamaton or treatment of pain. Over time some may develope into cancer. Most doctors are cautious and remove them anyway to avoid future complications. If you are over 50 the higher your chances of ae excess tissues developig into polyps.

Small polyps are commonly found on colonoscopy. How dangerous they are depends less on size and more on the type of polyp they are. The type is found by looking at the polyp under the microscope. One form is more likely to be benign and another is more concerning for malignancy.

Numerous small polyps aren't necessarily dangerous (the danger being that they are cancerous) but your doctor wouldn't know for sure without a biopsy. Think of it like moles on your skin. Some people have many skin moles, but it doesn't mean all of those moles are cancerous.

Colon polyps are fleshy growths in large interstine. Polyp may lead to cancer. So it is advisible that polyp should be removed when they are small in size.
