Are Selman saxophones any good?

A lot of people would think that Selman Saxophones aren't any good because they cost so little but they are actually not a bad brand. Their tonality is rich and full and they play very well. The only problem is that the finish is not very good.

No, they're a cheap brand that tries to confuse people who are looking for a Selmer saxophone- Selmers are good quality, while Selmans are cheap at best.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a clear sound, then Yamaha is the best way to go. However, if you are looking for a student model to "try out" the instrument, then Selman is fine. Reeds are easy to obtain and any shop should be familiar enough to repair it.

All kids when I was growing up in the 70's played Selman woodwind instruments in band. They were affordable with a decent sound for beginner to intermediate musicians.
