I want to play various DVDs on my PSP.

For the games, PSP is indeed region free. However, all the movies (which are called umd's) are all region locked.

PSP's are not region free so the movies you buy for them have to be the same region as yout system. However, there is a program you can download that will convert your data to a sandisc card that can be played on your PSP.
