Are pencil sketches worth anything?

I believe pencil sketches are work something. They are an easy way to own a piece of art work. It also shows the process of the artist. Sketches can be beautiful, even if they are not as valuable as a finished piece of art work.

The worth of a pencil sketch is directly related to who the artist is. Sometimes an anonymous sketch if it is particularly skillful and if it depicts and interesting subject can be worth something, especially if it is several centuries old. Sketches are almost always worth less than paintings are at auction and at galleries.
