October Glory maple trees are an excellent choice of tree. They are hardy and grow quickly. October Glorys can reach up to 40-50 feet, but shed their leaves in the fall. Expect shade during the late spring and summer months in colder climates. They will grow in zones 5-8.

October Glory maple trees are great for shade and for their fall color display. If you want fast shade, you might want an autumn blaze maple though. They are very fast growing.

October Glory maple trees are great for shade. They grow fast compared to may trees, have a spreading canopy, and have great fall color. These trees keep their leaves about two weeks longer than other red maples.

Yes they are great trees for shade. They do not grow fast though. Trees take a long time to reach full size.
