Hard plastic pools are pretty safe for the most part. The danger would be in falling and hitting the edges of the pool. It is always important to be safe when swimming, and keep a close eye on children. Make a few rules to be followed such as not standing or jumping in the pool.

A hard plastic pool is just as safe as a normal pool. There is risk of drowning in any pool. If you have kids, watch them any way.
