Are downloaded dressmaking patterns any good?

I would think they'd be too hard to use since you can't print them out full size.

They can be good but can also be a detriment. If you are not an experienced seamstress I would recommend using store bought patterns.

There are downloaded patterns that can be printed in full scale, but you have to print them as several pages and tape or glue the resulting pieces together. This creates a full size pattern. It is a little more work than a paper pattern, but the result is fully usable.

I wouldn't waste the ink that you would use to copy a pattern. There are many good patterns that you can buy for less the cost of buying a ink cartridge and more time putting together. Try your local sewing store or craft center for great patterns. Remember your paper is only 8 1/2 X11.
