How do spiders build spiderwebs?

Is it because they have 8 legs that the patterns are the way they are?

No the shape and design of the web is part gentic code and part of that individual spider almost like its finger print for more information on this try doing a web search and it will pull tons of info for you.

Spiders build their webs from several kinds of web. They build main strings with normal strong web and other with sticky one. The pattern helps them receive vibrations.
