Considered good luck, different areas of the world have different cricket customs. Southeast Asia has cricket fighting. They are caged pets in China as well as other places.
That's just tradition. It's up to you if you want to believe if crickets mean good luck or not. Either way, crickets are harmless and pose no threat to humans.
