I think that cowboy hats can be for either gender. They make men look a bit more rugged, and women look sexy with a plaid shirt and cowboy hat.

They can be yes - especially if you are looking for one with more feminine detailing. The sizing can also be difference. If you are buying a specific hat from a store and not a "one size fits all" hat, they will usually be divided into men's and women's hats.

Back in the day cowboy hats were made for mostly only men. Now-a-days you can find them for women also in all different colors that would appeal to women
