Most of the reasons they would list are just excusses for doing what they want to do without regard for who they hurt or what it might cost them. That's what uncontrolled lust, a lack of self control, and allowing your self to think that the grass is greener on the otherside lead to.

some men are selfish and need their egos stroked. there isnt a women out there that can be a first night stand for me period and be better than my wife. we have had sex and lovemaking for 14 years and we got it down to an art.

Many men cheat for the sexual thrill and excitement. In those cases, it does not mean they no longer love the women they are in a relationship with, simply thrill seeking and adventure. However, when a man forms emotional intimacy with another woman and then has sex with her, he is now forming a new relationship with her.
