Are collies good as pet dogs?

Collie bred by reputable breeder can make excellent family pet. However, their herding instinct maybe cause them to "herd" small children so proper training is a must.

They are outstanding with kids they are so good at times you will hear of people leaving them with the kids so the person can run in the house for a bit and the dog will never leave the children they are good at loving the small kids.
