The next paycheck for a terminated employee must be issued on the normally scheduled pay date. The employer cannot for any reason withhold an employee's pay nor can he reduce or take deductions from the pay. Call the Labor Board to report this violation.
The rules for this vary tremendously from state to state. In some states, it can be as little as two days. In other states, it is the next regular payday. The only way to know for sure is to ask an attorney in your state.

The employer is not bound by any state law to issue a paycheck in "as little as two days." The requirement is that the pay be issued in the next cycle just as a normal paycheck would be. add a comment
