According to Chapter 7 bankruptcy law, how are tax returns affected if only one spouse files?

the trustee can claim that portion of the tax refund attributed the the filing spouse. Also you would consider any deductions the spouse may have. Youu can file jointly or joint filing separate to avoid problems

The returns of the non-filing spouse may be affected if they are liable for some of the listed debts, for example, they have guaranteed loan payments or acted as a co-signor. Also be aware that the finances of the non-filing spouse must be presented to the bankruptcy court in order to give an accurate picture of the household finances.
