Is it too late to file my 2006 tax returns?

I had a good reason not to file on time.

Of course it represents a problem, but I think you can still file your 2006 tax returns. Actually now you can do that online and also be helped. Although, if I were you I should ask a tax counsellor before I do anything.

you can always back up and file but be aware you will have to pay a penalty for filing late which will most likely include some interest. So any refund you may have gotten might be gone for your late filing penalties. But i think they IRS would prefer that you file it no matter how late.

You should have filed an extension if you had a valid reason for not filing. You may still file though. If you are due a refund I believe you will receive your refund. However, if you owe taxes, you will be charged interest on the amount, and penalties for not filing

No it's not to late to file your 2006 taxes. You can find sites on line or you can download the tax papers or call IRS to have them send you the forms for that year. You might get charged some money because you have waited so long to file.
