1-800-PetMeds. Advantage (best brand, four doses) flea medication is $40, Heartguard (best brand, six doses) heartworm medicine is under $20. It's cheaper than the vet and they deliver!

Frontline is used for fleas and ticks and costs around $45 for 3 months, $80 for 6 months. Heartgard is used for heartworm and cost around around $40 for 6 months.

The cost for flea and heartworm prevention will vary greatly based on the products you select. Combo treatments are available, or you can buy flea control and heartworm seperately. Generally speaking, I spend an average of about 80 dollars for a 6-month supply of Heartguard and Advantix for my 38 lbs Brittany.

Depending on what brand you buy the price will vary. The hearworm medication is very reasonably priced at around $5-$10 a month. The flea medication can get very costly ranging from $10-$60.
