Yes, it can. More commonly it can cause lower abdominal pain, especially on the side where the cyst is. It can also cause irregular bleeding and abdominal bloating.

yes ovarian cysts can cause back pain. If the cyst is large enough it can sit on a nerve and cause pain in a totally different area.
