Will the Department of Defense drug test (urinalysis) pick up benzodiazepine use?

I got some Xanax from a friend and I'm concerned about the DOD urinalysis.

Most urine drug screens with contain as test for benzodiazepine. I assume the DOD uses one of the more common ones and will for sure pick up Xanax use. Xanax has a particulary long half life and will be positive for quite some time. Best to not take any more.

A standard urinalysis does not check for drugs, it checks for blood, protein and glucose in the urine. That being said, a standard urine tox screen does include benzo's and thus will pick up Xanax.

DoD urinalysis continually tests for marijuana, cocaine and amphetamines. Tests for LSD, opiates, barbiturates and PCP are randomly cycled with those main three. Steroids can be tested for at commanders request. Benzodiazepines like Xanax are not tested for, but you still shouldn't do it. Source:Manual for Courts Martial.

Any standard drug urine screen will test for benzodiazepine, thc (marijuanna), coccaine, and opium containing drugs. All of these drugs are in your system for different amounts of time and eliminated from your body at varying rates dependent upon your fluid/food intake and activity.

It might. You need to remember that taking any medicine that is not prescribed to you is dangerous and also; it's against the law.
