Suggestions on how to see if it'll look good on you without cutting first is to take a photograph online and photoshop it by adding bangs. Another, especially if you have long hair, is to take hair in a ponytail and flip it onto your forehead.

It will depend on the shape of your face and the severity of the bangs and your current style. Take any old picture you don't care about and draw some on. Like it? Go for it, but start with as little hair as possible to start.
