No, olive oil will do wonders for dry hair and scalp but does not get rid of lice. This is because you are not getting rid of their eggs. Try an OTC product that is gentle, like NIT. You can also go to an all natural drug store or market and they sell natural lice products that are more gentle.

If applied all over the head olive oil actually smothers lice suffocating them. The eggs however maybe able to live through it but makes it easier to comb them out.

Olive oil may help get rid of head lice, as the oil in mayonnaise is what suffocates them. Also, the RID brand of head lice products is the most complete line to help with head lice removal. Remember, you must remove the eggs from the hair, and not just use the treatment.

There are a couple of things I used. One was putting black walnut herb into the olive oil and combing it into the hair. The other was garlic gel.

Yes, olive oil is considered a treatment. The oil is supposed to smother the lice. The nits will still need combed out with a special comb.

I have heard of this myself. Honestly though, the best method is to go to the drug store and pick up some RID its the best product on the market for head lice. Always remember to follow up on the treatments. To prevent from getting them at all, Baby oil in your hair keeps them away.

It might, but there is no medical proof that it does, just like any other natural remedies. These can be hard to get out and it might not be worth it because of that.

No I dont think olive oil do work for lice in the hair. But I do know if you go to the beauty supply or the drug store they items for lice in people hair. Or you can probably just pull the lice out there hair this little toolto kill the bugs.
