Will my body reject my pregnancy if my RH factor is not tested by 20 weeks?

I am worried that my body is going to reject my pregnancy, I am 20 weeks along and have yet to get tested for my rh factor, I am afraid it is negative as my mom's was.

Rh disease is complicated, If you are Rh- it will likely not affect this pregnancy, but could cause problems for future pregnancies. If your baby is also Rh- then no problems will arise. You should have your blood type tested to be sure, but usually Rhogam (medication given to Rh- women) is not given until 28 weeks, you have time.

If you were going to have problems with rejection it would have occurred early on in pregnancy. At 20 weeks your chances are greatly reduced. If you are concerned consult with your doctor

Usually your RH is tested in the initial blood test at your first doctors appointment. The rejection takes place when your water breaks at delivery.

If this is your first, then you should be fine. Rhogam is given after delivery when this occurs. However, your body has yet to make antibodies and should not affect the pregnancy, providing this is your first pregnancy.

It shouldn't reject it. You are supposed to get tested for the RH factor right away because if you are negative they can give you stuff to help you out.
