You might think that a coffee maker is just a coffee maker, but an under the counter coffee maker can save valuable countertop space. However, it can be harder to maintain due to its being anchored. Another advantage is ease of use when you program times for the coffee maker to start in the morning because it's at eye level.

Unless space is a problem, I don't recommend an under the counter coffee maker. The coffe maker will produce steam and that will dampen the space and damage it. There are many attractive coffee makers these days that will actually add to your kitchen's appeal by having it on the counter.

We love our under counter coffee maker although the B&D R&D dept could use some help improving the product. I do wonder why Black & Decker is the only maker of this product for consumers? It seems the consumer market for a good one would be huge.  add a comment

An under the counter coffee maker frees space allowing more room for working your kitchen. The coffee maker may spill or drip if overfilled; be sure to follow proper measurements.

If you have an under the counter coffee maker you must install it properly, I think you will find it works great and does not spill or drip if you do the installation correctly and it makes great coffee.
