A seroma is a common thing after abdominal surgery such as a tummy tuck. It is a pocket of clear serous fluid that sometimes develops in the abdomin and other areas of the body after surgery. Small blood vessels are ruptured during surgery and this causes the plasma in the blood to seep out into a sack.

It is not possible to predict the formation of a seroma. They are, however, common after abdominal surgery. A seroma is a pocket of clear serous fluid; the rupture of smaller vessels can contribute to it. Treatment depends on the nature of the seroma, which is different from an abscess or hematoma.

A seroma can come and go. You cannot tell if you will have one or not. Although they are very common after surgery in the abdominal area.

The easiest way to avoid getting one would be to find a highly reputable doctor that has years of experience in the field. Anyone could get a seroma, and aren't very unusual. Be sure to leave the drain in after the surgery for as long as your doctor has specified.

Yes you will get seroma after a tummy tuck. But it will go off in the future. But you should go for regular check ups. This will help you to get advice from the Doctor. You should not be worried much about the seroma. Because it can cause psychological problems in the furure.
