Believe it or not, you will want to make sure you move around every day. Even the day after your operation. This will save you alot of pain or uncomfortableness latter on. Just take sponge baths until the dressing is off and take your pain pills regularly even if you feel you don't need them for at least 3 days.

For the first 24 hours have someone be there to help you out. You should stay laying down with your stomach slightly bent and stick to liquids and soft foods. Also, keep bandages fairly clean. Other than that, your doctor will tell you if there are any special instructions.

The best why to heal after a tummy tuck is to start bend forward a bit each day while standing or walking for the first several weeks after. And to start taking short walk a week or two after surgery to prevent blood clots or other problem. Walking will increase blood follow and expand the lung helping the cut heal.

You have had a fairly major surgical procedure. With doctor's approval you will use acetominophen for pain, but may require stronger, this will be prescribed. You will be instructed how to care for your drains and how to wear a compression bandage for support. Bend forward initially to baby your tuck, and follow rules about exertion. Do NOT overdo!

Making sure that you are changing the gauge every couple of hours is one of the important thing to remember when caring for a tummy tuck.
