Salt water definitely is not good for a plant. It will grow with distilled but why bother, just give it tap water only when it is dry and good drainage in the pot and you are fine.
Tap Water. Tap water has more minerals than distilled many times. Salt is not good for plants, in fact adding salt to the soil your plants grow in is a very effective way to kill them.
