The 6 cylinder diesel gets much better fuel mileage. The Cummins 5. 9 gets 19-20 MPG average on an unloaded truck. The 8. 0 V10 gasoline engine gets only about 12 MPG average on an unloaded truck.
Really they might be close but I doubt it. Diesels tend to get better mileage then equal displacement gas engines. V10 engine tend to get a lot worse mileage then the smaller displacement gas engines. I would wager the diesel engine might get almost double the mileage of the v10.
6 cylinder is more fuel efficient than of 10 cylinder engine because of the compression and the volume of the gasoline burnt inside the engine so 6 cylinder has more mileage than of 10 cylinder
yes. Because the number of cylinders is less-6. so the fuel consumption is less than
compared to 10 cylinder dodge. But the speed is less compared to 10 cylinder dodge. speed of the dodge is to be normal will improve millage.
Though I have not heard about 10 cylinder engine but theoratically, it will not give same milage. Milage depends on condition of the engine, pay-load, road condition, condition of tyres and the way you drive.
You would have to ask a person who knows a lot about trucks to find out. Or you can look it up online, you should find the answer there. Hope this helps.
