See your mechanic immediately. Your AntiLock Braking System is vital to the safe operation of your Dodge truck. Take your vehicle to your nearest Dodge Chrysler of Jeep dealer and have your ABS system checked.

This is something that I suggest you bring into a Dodge dealer to have done. If you try to reset it yourself there is always the chance that it could malfunction. The ABS system is controlled by sending a message to your braking system and could be very dangerous if not set correctly

You will probably need to take it to a certified dodge dealer to have it reset. Dealers can overcharge so think about taking it to your mechanic.

All places like that do is read codes and a code is nothing more that an indication of where to start troublshooting. a code diagboses nothing. Any one who tells you that a code tells you what part to replace is an idiot or a parts counterman, which are many times one and the same, plain and simple.

If you notice your ABS light illuminating on your Dodge truck, the first thing you should do is stop the vehicle if it's in motion. This light can indicate a problem with your braking system. Afterward, it is recommended that you call your service dept. for further instructions.

The light is set from the onboard computer when a fault is detected. The code will not reset if the fault has not been corrected. Being that it's your anti-lock brake system, it should be thoroughly inspected, but disconnecting the battery will have your problem corrected.

Hold down your trip o meter for 30 seconds. If that doesn't work you can always disconnect the terminals from the battery for 15 minutes.

You need a seperate ABS tool or computer to reset the ABS light. These are commonly found at any automotive dealerships or any automotive repair shop. A normal hand scanner tool will not reset the ABS warning light. Nor will disconnecting one of the battery leads turn off the ABS light.
