Why would you take a GCSE?

GCSEs are exams students in the UK take at the end of Year 11. They need a certain number of GCSEs to enable them to study 'A' levels, which are needed to enter University. GCSE subjects include Maths, English Language & Literature, Sciences, History, Languages, Sports Science, ICT etc.

A GCSE is a British certificate awarded for the equivalent of American high school work. If you hold a high school diploma, there is no benefit to having a GCSE.
