Some people convert in order to marry. Others might convert because the faith is more to their liking. Catholicism to Judaism is the most common conversion.

Many people convert to Judaism because they feel that Judaism is their spiritual home, or because they would like to marry someone who is Jewish. Rather than continuing to follow a religion they don't believe in, they choose instead to try and find fulfillment in a religion in which they are more comfortable.

Some people convert to Judaism to have their marriage recognized by the Jewish spouse's family. About 10% of all Jews have converted for this reason. Conversion to Judaism also allows one to immigrate to Israel unconditionally, though this is rare; this has happened for several groups in India and other "lost Jewish tribes".

Some individuals may seek conversion into Judaism if they feel a distinct spiritual calling to do so. Others might be attracted to the spirtual traditions and theological perspective it offers.
