Why will adobe premier elements 4.0 will not work with on windows xp?

first, check the compability of the program with your pc. Most adobe programs require that your pc have at least 1gb of memory to operate.

There is a software compatibility wizard at start-> all programs-> accessories-> compatibility wizard that may help. One reason would be if your computer is older memorywise.

Premiere Elements 4. 0 must be installed on a system which has Windows XP Service Pack 2 as a minimum. Right click My Computer, left click Properties (will show you which Service Pack is on your system). Microsoft DirectX 9 or 10 compatible sound driver must be installed. You'll need min 512MB of RAM, intel pentium4 processor.

Make sure that you have all of the elements installed that are attached to Adobe. If some are missing the program will not open in windows xp.
