Your boyfriend may not feel like he is at a point in your relationship where he wants serious commitment. If you are really worried about it, you should sit down and ask him where he sees the relationship going and if he is serious about the two of you. However, do not force him to make a decision.

I would hypothesize that your boyfriend isn't proposing because he is not yet ready to marry you. Perhaps he is just waiting until he can afford a nice ring?
