Is the drum turning? If everything else in the dryer is functioning normally, it most likely is the heating coil. If it is broken it will need to be replaced. This can be done yourself, but since it is usually in a difficult area in which to access, it's best to let a professional do the job.

There could be a number of things that have gone wrong, but the most popular (and cheapest thing) that could have gone wrong is the thermal fuse going bad. This is a relatively cheap part to replace and can be done without having to call a service technician to keep costs down.

If it has never worked here, the 220V electric outlet may only be providing 110V. If the dryer has worked, a blown fuse may be preventing the element from heating up, the element may have broken, the control board may have failed, or there may be a short. Have a qualified repair professional service it.

If the dryer is working but lacking heat, there are a couple of possible causes. First, the heating element coil could be broken, which means there will be a break in the wire coil that prevents the electricity from flowing completely through it. The second cause could be, a thermal disc could be broken, due to overheating or old age.

There are coils that heat up to dry your clothes. When these coils burn out they stop producing heat, which stops the clothes from drying. You need to call a service repairman or take the machine apart, get the part number of the coil and replace it yourself. The hardest part is taking the machine apart.
