Why is the kiss sign an X?

There are three theories for this. One, in medieval times, those who couldn't write would sign their name with an "X" and then kiss it. Two, in the Greek alphabet it's the letter "Chi" - first letter in "Christ." Third, it resembles two people kissing.

I think it has to do with a passionate loving kiss. When two people kiss they lock lips and that is supposed to be symbolized with X.
