It's different when we make it at home with powder or syrup.

When you make chocolate milk at home, odds are you're not stirring it enough to dissolve all of the syrup or powder, giving it that "grainy" taste.

I have never had that problem, but it may be because it is mixed in a larger mixer and all the sediment is drained out.
