It may either be overworked ( exercise), or stressed (carrying a heavy weight). It may be viral myositis--a viral infection of the muscle. It could also be due to trauma.

Your left shoulder blade could be sore due to an injury or uncomfortable posture, causing inflammation or a muscle strain. It may also be a sign of arthritis.

It could be a few things. If there is a bruise there, that would be a likely cause. It could be a swollen lymph node, especially if you notice a bump under the skin. If the sensitivity is all over, it could also be fibromyalgia.

it could be your trapezius. it is a diamond shaped muscle one on either side of your upper back. runs from the top of the shoulder over your shoulder blade down to your mid back

You probably have been hit or banged it against something. The nerves in your shoulder are injured and tender. If there's swelling or rash in that area, you should see your physician.

I am assuming that you injured it in some way and that would be why it is sensitive. I would suggest using some Icy Hot on it to see if that fixes it at all! If it does not do anything, then you might want to go to the doctor so you can get it checked out!
