The front wheel thumping may be due to two reasons. There is a chance for the wheel bend to a little or major extent which can be removed. There is also a chance for incorrect air pressure. Last and very rare chance is front cone balls damage.

Some possibilities for a thumping wheel could be a bent rim, an out of round tire, separating belts in a tire, or a weak shock or strut.

Your front wheel should never thump. You may just have a flat tire or a lump or flat spot has formed where it was setting for so long. Other wise you have a serious problem with your wheel or suspension. Have a mechanic check it out.

The front wheel is probably thumping because of the air pressure in the tire. Carefully remove the tire, check for anything in the tire or add more air.

You may have a bent rotor, loose brake pad or damaged wheel. If only one wheel is thumping check these areas first.
