The main cause is age. It's possible your tires were stored for many years before installation. Typically, minor cracking occurs due to exposure to extremes of weather: hot sun, freezing climate, etc. This will be conspicuous if only showing on the outward facing side. Most manufacturers warrantee against cracks for 4 years. You may be due a pro-rate on replacements.

cracks come from extreme heat, and cold, non driving , the vechicle being parked and not moved for long periods of time. also if the tire sits for months and then you add air and drive the car the new pressure and movement of the tire will cause cracks as well as hot tires through a giant puddle

depending on the severity of the cracks on the tires, they could be from sitting in the sun for too long, stress from racing on said tires, or just age, and the rubber compounds dry.
