Why is my Ford Expedition stalling while idling?

First of all, it could be as simple as the idle being set too low. The idle may need adjustment. Next, check the fuel system. Try a good fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps. The fuel injector itself may be going bad, or even the fuel pump.

I would first do a good tune up. Replace any clogged or dirty filter and install new, properly gapped spark-plugs. Then make sure you iac valve and maf sensor are both clean.

There are several things that could cause stalling at idle but, without looking at it, here are a few examples: Idle Air Control (IAC) valve sticking closed. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) corrosion confusing the computer. A vacuum leak behind the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. A faulty computer. Faulty Temperature sensor making the computer think it's -208F outside.. Etc.

It could be stalling out because you have a bad fuel injector or the fuel pump is going bad. If the pump is going bad it is not even getting gas to the motor and it will stall and if the injector is bad the same thing happens.

It sounds like you are having a problem with the fuel system. You can try Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner and then you can make sure the injectors are working.

It sounds like you are having a bad fuel issue. You should try some Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner and see if it helps. If not your fuel pump is going or you are having problems with the injectors.

It may need an idle adjustment. That can be done as part of a standard tune up, which may be a good idea anyway.

Your SUV needs spark, fuel, and oxygen to run well. One of these things is lacking. Change spark plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, dump a bottle of chevron brand injector cleaner in your tank (cheap stuff first). Clean your MAF and throttle body replace Oxygen sensor (easy tasks with simple tools).

Many things could cause this. One of the first that come to mind is the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor. Not too bad to change this. Most people can do this in about 15-20 minutes.

It could be a bunch of things such as your o2 sensor, your gas line weaking or even your clutch

Could be a few things. The idle could be set too low. It could be starved for gas, with a gunked-up fuel filter, or starved for oxygen, with a blocked air filter. The timing might need to be adjusted. If those things are all right, then it's either in the electronic fuel injection, or bad gas.
