Why does my smoke detector go off every few hours?

any number of reasons, each need to be checked by the way. 1. moisture my have gotten into the device making it malfunction. 2. The batteries could be going dead. 3. bugs might have gotten into the system. 4. you might have a smoke detector that also detects other things.

Something could be triggering it or it's running out of batteries. After you have checked both of those if it's still beeping get a new one.

Usually a smoke detector will go of every couple hours if it needs to have a new batter installed. Do that and it should be fine.

It could be that the batteries in the smoke detector need to be changed. Usually you should test your detector twice a year to make sure it is working correctly.
