What does the constant red LED indicator means on a DS284TH smoke detector?

Basically, it means that there is some defect in the parts. If the light is red and you have tried everything and it still appears to be red, then there has to be a constant defect in the parts. Thus, get a replacement of the detector because there is a defect.

Well if there is red that means that the smoke detector is not working properly. If you just replaced the batteries and it still continues to appear, there must be some kind of defect in the detector. Use your warranty and go ask for a replacement of the product a.s.a.p.

Suggest U move it to a location where U know one works ... If still Red Replace it

First you should check in the manual, if it has some king of meaning. If not, most likely the device is working improperly, you should take your warrant and take it to where they will exchange it for you with a working one.
