Why does my small engine carburetor keep getting filled with water?

Storing your lawn mower outdoors in the open is usually the problem. Try covering your mower with a tarp or storing it in a shed or garage. Also use a fuel stabilzer in the off season.

Most small engines have a metal cover that is fastened over the air filter. Some are different than others, but in any case you must make sure that this housing/ cover is tightly secured over the area of the air filter. It is possible that there could be lost lug nut for this cover, or the cover is completely gone.

If you life in an area with a wide temperature range it's probally from temperature change. Moisture will find a way to wik itself inside a contained space from night to day. My best guess is that your garage is not very well insulated and you'll need to keep your equipment sheltered.

If you store your mower outdoors, this is possible. Cover or store the mower in the shed to prevent this problem. The engine is not designed to be water proof.

I am not a top notch mechanic but just like in a car most likely something is blown in your engine. I would either rebuild or buy a new one. Also if it is left outside it could be from the weather. Without more of an explanation it's hard to say.

There is either condensation in the gas tank, a broken gas cap, or the gas you are buying has water in it. Keep the tank full and replace the cap.

I don't know, but I would have to guess that you should probably replace it if this is a recurring problem. it is usually worth the cost of a new carburetor to stop the headache.
